Naturalization As A British Overseas Territory Citizen

If you have been granted permanent residence in the Cayman Islands either under the points system or being married to a Caymanian, you are eligible to apply to be naturalized 1 year after obtaining permanent residence as a “British Overseas Territory Citizen” under the British Nationality Act, 1981 of the United Kingdom.

The requirement, however, is that you have to be a resident in the Cayman Islands for a minimum of 5 years prior to the application, or legally and ordinarily resident in the Cayman Islands for 15 years prior to the application.

Naturalization allows you to obtain a British Overseas Territory Cayman Islands Passport and also allows you to register as a British Citizen.
